
Individuals can be seen either at the client’s home or at the Hartpury Equine Therapy Centre. The first appointment typically takes approximately 75 minutes and consists of:

Completing a full health questionnaire

Taking a full history of the presenting complaint

Discussing, agreeing a treatment plan and initiating treatment

Agreeing subsequent appointments (which will normally last 1 hour)
In conjunction with any medical treatment a therapeutic protocol can include:

Myofascial release/ soft tissue mobilisation/ neuromuscular re-education (NMR)

Mobilisation and articulation through partial to full range of movement of the rider.

Normalisation of muscle and fascial tone; through the provision of electrotherapy, i.e. interferential therapy, TENs or therapeutic ultrasound. This may be provided on the day or I can provide you with the means to continue this treatment at your own home.

Muscle rebalancing through specific exercise programmes both passive and active. This can be provided in the new Margaret Gitton Therapy Centre at the Hartpury Rider Performance Clinic
